Abstract
THE MOTIVATION OF PRACTISING BASKETBALL BY HEARING IMPAIERD PLAYERS IN JORDANABSTRACT* MAJED SALEEM EL-SALEHThis study aimed at defining the motives of practicing for Deaf Basketball players in Jordan according to variable of age & experience age & educational qualification & the Job .The scholar used the descriptive technique ,selecting an international sample of (9) players from Prince Ali Club for Deaf Amman . They applied the questionnaire motives used by (Diabat / M.A 1992 & El-Saleh & Al-Hendawi 2009) .The analysis of the data showed that the motives of the Deaf Basketball players were arranged as follows: Fitness , Technical , Psychological , Social , Economic &Vocational motives.It also showed that there was no statistical evidence among the motives due to variable age , experience , age , educational qualification & the job . The results were positive .In the lights of the results, the researcher recommended the needs to provide the Jordanian Paralympics Committee, The Higher Council of disabled affairs and the Jordanian Basketball federation with the research results as well as more attention to be given to the motivated basketball hearing impaired individuals in Jordan and working on developing them. In addition, specialized courses should beheld in the field of psychology and motivation of the trainers and to make the game more familiar in all clubs and centers of the Hearing Impaired and Paralympics Jordanian Committee and to carry out a similar deal with the mass games, and other individual of this group specifically.
